Data Community DC would like to hire a graphic designer on a short-term (“gig”) basis to help with a variety of tasks! We need the following things done:
Design a MailChimp newsletter. We've got a simple outline and content, but need help making it look good.
Create logos for probably three Meetup groups.
Please provide examples of your previous work, some thoughts on how you would approach the tasks above, and your compensation expectations.
Data Community DC, would like to hire a part-time Communications Manager to help improve our ability to deliver electronic content to our diverse technical community. The role would be hourly, likely an expected 5 hours/week initially, and would include the following tasks:
Assemble a short weekly email newsletter from existing content (blog posts, event announcements, job announcements, other articles). Some distillation/excerpting of content will be necessary.
Improve social media content, such as by coordinating guest content providers.
Collect and manage submitted job ads.
Participate in monthly DC2 board meetings, and follow the board mailing list.
The Communications Manager should have some experience with related tasks, facility with electronic communication and social media tools, good written communications skills, and the ability to commit to the role for a substantial period of time. Interest in statistics, data science, data visualization, or related fields is a big plus.
Compensation will be in the $15-25/hour range, depending on experience.
